Why Pilates?

Pilates has always been a place of respite and safety for me during so many different chapters of my life for 30 years now! It is the source of embodiment and peace for me- the perfect medicine for my overactive brain. And I’m forever fascinated by all the pieces of equipment that are part of the practice, and how they elicit different types of sensation and connection from my body. I did my comprehensive certification in all the apparatus with Pilates Technique. I also have a 500 hour yoga teacher certification, two Yoga Tune Up certifications.

Teaching Style

I try to remember the phrase “do all things with love” in all aspects of my life, so I would say that I approach students and groups with love and compassion- we’re all in different states of body and mind on a given day and I want everyone to feel supported and cared for during their time with me .

Favorite Pilates Exercise

The Long Stretch series, which is comprised of Long Stretch, Down Stretch, Up Stretch and Elephant. These are full body exercises (like all of Pilates !) but I love the intense simultaneous stretch and engagement needed. Plus it feels heavenly for those of us who tend to have a stiff lower back.

Fun Fact

My first ever credit card purchase as an 18 year old was a Trek bike (which I still have)
